Premier Timberland is the real estate and timber marketing division of Forest Management, Inc.
The company was established in Savannah, Tennessee in 1975 by Michael D. Martin in order
to offer consulting forestry services to private landowners throughout the Tennessee Valley.
Since then we have been providing professional forestry counsel to our
landowner clients, but along the way we also gained a very broad
base of experience in almost every phase of the forestry and
wood products business:
  • We have owned and operated sawmills, lumber drying
    and distribution operations;
  • We have provided wood supply services for a variety
    of sawmill and pulpmill customers;
  • We have performed environmental audits of
    timber harvest related operations for industrial
    timberland owners;
  • We have acquired, managed and sold thousands
    of acres of timberland;
  • We have replanted and reforested many thousands
    of acres of land;
  • We have served on a number of state and regional
    forest policy development activities and committees
    and in leadership positions in state and regional forestry
    and conservation organizations.

In 2006, our company refocused and recommitted our attention
to the core land and timber business that we love so much. We sold
our lumber operations and reorganized our company around two separate and distinct functions:
  • Forest Management, Inc. is exclusively organized to provide professional consulting forestry
    services for an ever-expanding group of landowner clients who are interested in the long-term
    ownership and management of timberland.
  • Premier Timberland is organized to: (a) provide timber marketing services for landowners who
    seek to harvest and sell timber in a profitable and responsible manner and, (b) provide
    comprehensive real estate services for rural land sellers, buyers and investors.
